The BNSF is Bulgaria’s national research funding organisation. It provides competitive funding for high-quality scientific research and supports the development of research capacity across the country. Through peer-reviewed, excellence-based funding programmes covering a broad range of disciplines, the Fund contributes to strengthening Bulgaria’s research ecosystem.

The BNSF’s membership further expands Science Europe’s network of public research funding and performing organisations across Europe. It brings new perspectives and expertise to the Science Europe community, while providing opportunities for collaboration and exchange with research organisations and funders across Europe.
